Lattingtown Market Reports

Originally marsh lands, the Incorporated Village of Lattingtown is within the boundaries of Locust Valley Proper and includes the towns of Matinecock, Mill Neck, Bayville and Upper Brookville encompassing about 18 square miles in all. These villages share post offices and schools which are governed by the Town of Oyster Bay. Residents of Lattingtown send their children to the Locust Valley Public Schools or one of the area private schools including Friends Academy and Portledge School. It is a short 30-mile trip into Manhattan from the Locust Valley train station.

Bordered by the Long Island Sound to the North, Bayville to the east, Locust Valley to the South and Glen Cove to the west, the 3.8 square miles of Lattingtown may seem like an unimposing sleepy town but it is rich in history and culture. Specifically, the Bailey Arboretum, original estate of Frank Bailey, Financier and President of the Title Guarantee and Trust Company until 1924. Covering 42 acres of lush forests and specimen plantings this garden spot offers plenty of sensory stimulation with its colorful perennial beds and sweet floral perfumes. For water views, it’s only a short trip to the Bayville waterfront district with seasonal restaurants and beachfront access.
